NEWS & EVENTS
FROZEN SUMMER, THE THIRD AND FINAL EPISODE IN THE DAN CALDER INTRODUCTORY SERIES WILL BE OFFICIALLY RELEASED ON 2 DECEMBER.
Dead isn’t always followed by and gone.
An all but forgotten cold case, all for one person that is. No one in their right mind would go back again… Right mind? Correct!
Frozen Summer is the nickname Dan Calder’s girlfriend Tara gives to a cold case, the coldest one of all. Who else but Calder would contemplate investigating the unsolved killing where he’s the only suspect?
Psychologically tortured by Zoe Summers death to this day. Being there, being involved, covering it up.
Armed with the police files from the original investigation, now he can inject his own witness evidence into the mix to generate new leads.
The time’s come to revisit the scene of his blackest experience in order to try and move on once and for all. At stake are the relationships with Tara, their new son Bradley and possibly his very liberty.
One way or another it ends here. Right here, right now.
The latest review of The Second Grave is right here.
"Ian Austin is an ex detective in the Hampshire police, and a former cop in New Zealand. Now you can add author to his resume. Not just an author, a darn good one , as is clearly demonstrated in "The Second Grave". It follows on from "The Agency" which, in 2016 , introduced the character Dan Calder...
Austin has delivered a real gem of a cop drama in "The Second Grave", and it's well worth hunting down."
Tony Neilsen, Goodreads.
Ian is hoping 2019 will be an opportunity to do a number of more informal and personal talks for book clubs and reading groups, which his latest book 'The Second Grave' lends itself to very well. If you or someone you know are interested in learning more, please do get in touch.
THE FIRST REVIEW FOR THE SECOND GRAVE HAS ARRIVED.
"FIVE STARS! Last year I read Ian's first book, The Agency, which also features Dan Calder and was very impressed. But with 'The Second Grave' Austin has taken his writing to a whole new level. While it is a good idea to read The Agency prior to reading The Second Grave, this will work as a standalone. And after reading it, I imagine you will want to read the first book anyway.
I read The Second Grave non-stop. I was swept along by the need to know just where Austin was taking us, and the unpredictability of the ride. Dan's character grows a great deal in this, the second book of the Dan Calder series. We learn more about demons from his past that both haunt and motivate him, just as Dan learns more about himself, not always things that he likes! If you like a great crime thriller with plenty of suspense, I recommend The Second Grave by Ian Austin."
